Early to what’s next
Kerry Bodine founded Bodine & Co. to help leaders turn human insight into decisions, systems, and experiences that drive business growth. She is the co-author of Outside In: The Power of Putting Customers at the Center of Your Business, which helped establish customer experience as a business discipline. Her work spans customer experience, partner ecosystems, and human-centered AI, drawing on three decades at the intersection of technology, design, and business strategy.
She has been exploring technology and human experiences for over three decades, and she’s got a track record of being early.
Throughout her career, Kerry has:
-
Co-authored Outside In, a seminal book for the discipline of customer experience.
-
Brought coverage of the nascent field of service design to Forrester Research in 2010.
-
Published peer-reviewed research on human-robot interactions in 2004.
-
Created Styleborg, a blog exploring wearable technology, fashion, and culture, circa 2003.
-
Studied AI theory and development for the first time in 1996.
-
Hand-coded a functional prototype for a social shopping app in 1995, when most people still relied on a single landline for both phone and internet access.

KERRY’S STORY
Putting people at the center of our futures
Before founding Bodine & Co. in 2014, Kerry spent nearly eight years at Forrester Research as a vice president and principal analyst, where she created the Customer Experience Ecosystem framework, now used by companies worldwide to diagnose and solve systemic experience problems.
Across every chapter of her career, Kerry’s helped organizations put people at the center of their tech and business decision-making. Now she’s doing the work that was always underneath the work, and it’s the biggest human-centered design challenge of all: how we build futures we all actually want to live in.
Kerry loves helping organizations build the capacity to absorb the shock of rapid change — and turn it into fuel for what’s coming next. She’s done this in boardrooms, on global stages, and in workshops where the future is already arriving faster than anyone planned for.
Kerry has also served as an expert witness in legal cases where customer experience meets business contracts.
She holds a master’s degree in human-computer interaction from Carnegie Mellon University.
